The Sun in Ha

 

 

 
This system consists of T-Scanner Ha-filter, in front of a small telescope (Fl = 500 mm). A videocamera picks up this solar image. The videoimage is captured from the videomonitor with a WEB-camera hooked to a PC. With the videomonitor the contrast & brightness can be played with to enhance Ha-features on the surface or at the rim. The WEB-camera has too poor a dynamic performance in Ha to work directly at the focus of the telescope. The videoimage is actually black & white, but coloured with some image processing PC-tool to please the eye.
