Greek crew held in jail

A Greek public prosecutor yesterday remanded the captain and second officer of the sunken ferry Express Samina in custody pending trial for manslaughter.

Captain Vassilis Yannakis and Tassos Psychoyios were also formally charged with exposing passengers to danger resulting in death, causing a shipwreck and a series of lesser charges concerning the tragedy in the Aegean on September 26 in which at least 79 were drowned.
