                                                                         v.2

Z88 to PCW Locofile - Transfer

  1. Create intended Locofile file card as needed.

  2. Save Z88 file as plain text.

  3. Send to PCW as ASCII file, using C.PORT or CPM transfer, PIP/MAIL

  4. PCW. Create Locoscript file (F1) & insert text of ASCII file.

  5. Edit file. Find and exchange all <--' (hard returns) except
those to be used as `separators' in Locofile. e.g
            References <--' Keywords <--' Notes <--'

  6. Run Locofile, create new filecard.

  7. (F1) Insert text.

  8. Select Merge file (file with same number of hard returns as
intended file card, e.g References <--' Keywords <--' and
       Notes <--' ).

  9. Select Z88 ASC file, now converted to Locoscript, with hard
returns deleted except for intended separators for filecard

  10. Edit new file card in Locofile for spelling, etc.

Note! If, when inserting text into Locofile, the intended text spills over
into more filecards than intended it may be the result of not deleting ALL
hard returns - the `strays' are being treated as separators!.

Printing from a Pipedream file.

Something I have never seen in any manual or book on the Z88 - - with a
Pipedream file on screen and the printer all ready to print you can mark a
block, press <>PO and it prints, immediately !

Mark the top left slot and the bottom right slot (with <>Z) and press <>PO
and it will print the whole page. Or you can mark part of a page or even
just one line. Don't forget to press <>Q to cancel the block marking after
  printing..

You can print addresses, selectively, very quickly this way; or only parts
of spreadsheets without fiddling with "range of columns" or "rows to print"
which you get if you type <>PO before marking.

Which RAM?

Isn't it annoying when you go from an application to the Filer and find that
it is not the RAM you were hoping it would be? What you can do is to move
to the RAM you want there and press ESC. Now, every time you go to the Filer
from that application you are at the same RAM.
                                                                           END
