Although born in the cosmopolitan and modern New York, the musical tastes of Vic "The shy" Thomas, opted from the beginning for country music, especially for the western-swing. He was still very young when he left his city behind to start traveling around the country playing, finally landing in Texas, home of the western-bop he loved so much. In Houston he finally recorded the track "Ramblin 'fool" (1953) on the Premium label, accompanied by a group of teenagers, beginning musicians who, however, would eventually become virtuous. The rockabilly would also influence Thomas, recording "Rock and roll tonight" (1956), a good theme that nevertheless remains tied to the hillbilly by the use of the typical instruments of this country genre, of those who did not want to or could not get rid of themselves since they were the ones who dominated, now, their friends. It did not have much success, because for the young people there were songs and artists much more clearly rockers, and left Texas to continue traveling around the country, re-recording their old songs in Nebraska, in 1960, and some good country ballads, like "A fool in love "(1961) in California, no longer nicknamed Bashful in the accreditations, because after so many years on the road and the scenarios we suppose that he had lost his shyness. Still I have doubts that it is the same Vic Thomas who recorded high schools as "Marianne" (1964) or "Love me baby" (1965) on Philips records, because he would have changed his style radically and late. In any case ended his constant journey in Florida, looking to play in the beach clubs, but the lack of success and I suppose that other personal circumstances plunged him into a depression so serious that he had to be admitted to a mental hospital. As there is no data of him after this fact I take for granted that he died not a little later, being still young.
