SSC kvällsrace 12

19:th of March and our 12:th evening race, the
last one at our current location. On Friday Hasse
Nilsson will show up and during the coming weekend
the track will be moved to a new, bigger place.
Mats Hummel had glued the track. It was slippery
but fast.
Lasse Åberg decided to race, instead of being race
director after Juha Honkanen, from Pro Speedshop,
offered Lasse to borrow one of his Saloon cars.
As race director we saw Nicklas Kindahl who did a
good job.
PJ started the qualifying driving a 4,682 which we
new would not be enough.
Juha Honkanen drove 4,568, which is good.
Rickard Lundh drove one single good lap in qualifying.
But it was a really good one 4,355 braking to old
track 4,48 track record.
Then it was Lasses turn and he was able to break the
new lap record recording a 4,269 time.
Mats Hummel drove a 4,504 which is close to his best
time.
From qualifying the drivers were divided into two
semi-finals from which the winner and the best lap
moved up to final.
From some close racing in semi-B Rickard Lundh 147
laps and Mats Hummel 143 laps moved up. P.J. was
third on 141 laps, which normally is a top result but
this time it was not enough.
From the semi-A Lasse Åberg 149 laps, moved up.
Lasse took an early lead followed by Rickard Lundh.
In the second heat Mats Hummel passed Richard to take
second place.
Lasse held the lead all to the end and finished
with new track record 225 laps.
It was close behind. Mats had had second place
from the second heat but had red in the last segment
while Richard ended on orange. Richard had four laps
up to Mats and just managed to gain those laps and a
half.
