SSC kvällsrace 3:rd of December 2001.

Monday evening was the time for a Saloon race again.

Qualifying

A lot of people had been at the track on Sunday and prepared it for the race but also, of course, tuned their cars.

When they arrived on Monday the track had changed a lot and the track was both fast but difficult to get it perfectly right.

The first qualifying time below 4.5 today was set by Lasse Å. with a 4.330, which should be good for TQ.

There were only one more racer doing any lap below 4.5 but he did it time after time posting fastest lap. Mikael Eskilsson. 4.246. He had a couple of laps in the high 4.2 also and took home the qualifying on a new track record.

We had a large field to be just a Monday evening race. 16 entries.
This meant that we race three semis (what ever you call it). The top two from each moved to the Main A and the number three and four to Main B.

Semi C

A lot of crashes.
Mats Hummel took the win 139 laps followed by Marcus Hammenstad 137.

To Main B went Juha Honkanen 123 and Kent Jansson 118.

Outside the main were Elias 112 and Jens 65. Jens bought his car yesterday and learned more and more for every heat.

Semi B

Lasse Åberg won 153 laps ahead of Rickard Lundh 141.

To Main B went Anders Latterman (Latte) 139 and Torgny 107.

Outside moving up were Micke Sundgren 72.

Semi A

The pole sitter Mikael Eskilsson won his semi 151 ahead of Jörgen (Slotcar) Andersson138.

To Main B, P.J. 134 and Lars Johansson 114.

Outside the mains Nicklas 96.

Main B

Latte took an early lead but behind him it was close until the end. Kenth Jansson had a second place shortly before the end but one crash cost him more than a lap.

Main A

Lasse and Mikael were the pacesetters chasing each other throughout the entire main.
Behind them the battle was close until the last two heats where Marcus had two good last heats and took the third place.

Summary

16 drivers on a Monday. Fun.
The new member that now has done one or two races shows good pace.
Another race or two and the small things have been sorted out and they can concentrate only on
their driving and then we will see even more progress.

Lasses first "non win" on a evening race.

After the race some wing cars came on the track.
The traction was slippery but some laps on all lanes were done.

Latte tried both his Patto and Pla-Fit with Carrera and other motors.
