SSC Evening race the 10:th of June.

It was our last race with the 16-D engines and also the last race before the summer. In autumn the race series will continue until the end of this year. The difference is that we will allow C-can Grp. 12 engines with ball bearings as well as the 16-D engine.

The track was not, as usually, cleaned and sprayed before the race. The decision was taken to race on it, as it was since it felt rather good and had not changed that much since the Saturday race.

Qualifying was fast. The track was somewhat more slippery but produced a good qualifying.

Micke Eskilsson won yet another qualifying with Lasse Åberg second and Rickard Lundh third.

Unfortunately I don't at the moment have all the results.

1. Micke Eskilsson 4.160

Quarters

As said before, it is now obvious that it's needed approx. 146-147 laps to reach the Main A.
This time 148.40 was not enough. Last driver to reach Main A was P-J. with 149 laps.

Main B

Nicke took an early lead but when heat two started Leif Boman was in the lead which he held until the end. It was not an easy win. There were three drivers, Torbjörn Lundkvist, Nicke Lindblom and Anders Lattermann who fought behind to but Leif was able to produce good heats all the time.

1.Leif Boman 228.40
2.Torbjörn Lundkvist 228.20
3.Nicke Lindblom 226.80
4.Anders Lattermann 223.80
5.Elias Kronberg 211.30
6.Lasse Johansson 209.20

Main A

Rickard, on white, took an early lead followed by Lasse but both went off and Torgny found, to his own surprise, himself in the lead but only for a short while.
At the end of the first heat Lasse was in the lead followed by Torgny and Micke Eskilsson.

In the second heat, Mats drove fast and went up to the lead together with Lasse. Rickard and Micke Eskilsson were together two laps behind.

After the third heat Lasse was in the lead 120 laps followed by Mats 119, Micke 118 and Rickard 117.

In the last three heats Rickard was able to pass both Micke, who had to change tires and Mats to finish in second place.

Now we have summer brake in our racing series. The last race saw Torgny and P-J back in the main again.
There are now approx. 11 different drivers that seem to be able to reach the Main A and all are getting better and better. Miss two races and two-three drivers in speed probably beat you. Any small mechanical trouble and you don't get into Main A.

That's competition.
