On Sunday the racing continued with the Eurosport 24 class and
here a race system was used with qualifying, three semi-finals and one
main final.
We had 23 cars on the line.
Brian Saunders were fastest in qualifying by almost two tenth of a
second, 4.210, in front of Janne Ekman 4.403 and Michael Landrud

main
The first two heats of the main saw a lot of drama
with
Anders Gustafson got hit after de-slotting on the straight which sent
him into the pits for repair and then Brian Saunders went of, or
collided under the bridge, which damaged his car that later caused him
to retire.
Eurosport 24 main. From left to
right. Kennet Signal, Mikael Gustavsson, Janne Ekman, Stefan
Törnfeldt, Michael Landrud, Brian Saunders and Anders Gustafson.
Missing in this picture is Torgny Nordgren.
Halfway through the main it was still an open race.
Michael Landrud
pulled into the lead which he expanded. Behind him Janne Ekman, Stefan
Törnfeldt and Mikael Gustavsson battled for second place.
Their
positions changed between the heats and several times in the heats as
well. Mikael Gustavsson had to do a gear change which dropped him down.
At the end we was Michael Landrud winning the Eurosport 24
class. It
was a well deserved victory and a nice end of the 2005 season which
hasn't been in his favor.

This has been a nice end of the season with two days of
intense racing
with Production, Open 12 and Eurosport 24 cars and also some
“unofficial” racing on Saturday night with Go-69’s rental cars.
If you
have been there you know what it is about. If not, go there next year
prepared with a good stomach and some aspirin.
It was nice, and valuable, to get beaten by the visitors from Britain.
Having drivers from other countries visiting you as well as going
abroad for races is important for the progress.
