Qualifying was done since some races wanted to test equipment. Pekka
Sippola was one of them which was clearly shown.
He took home the qualifying with a 1,872 lap. Second place was Jari Porttinen
1,939 and in third Juha Yli-Sipola 1,941.
In the first heat in the main Juha Yli-Sipola grabbed a four lap
lead in front of Jari Porttinen and Lasse Åberg. In the second heat
Juha expanded his lead.
Jari and Pekka Sippola were fast in the fourth heat. Juha still leads on
307 with Jari 298, Lasse 296.
In the fifth and sixth heat Jari continues to be the fastest but
Juha holds the lead but it's shrinking.
After the sixth heat. Juha 456, Jari 453 and Lasse 445.
Seventh heat and Juha pulls away some from Jari. To the eight heat Jari
changes to a fresh motor. Juha is on red lane and pushed hard. One minute
into the heat Juha's motor stops in a cloud of some and Jari can drive into
victory lane.
