Wing car racing in Kouvola, Finland 28 January 2006
I did my first race of the year in Finland. Together with fellow Swedes, Mikael Silén and Stefan Törnfeldt, I flew to Helsinki in Finland where Jari Porttinen waited to take us to Kouvola.
I was not the only one who was not ready with all preparation
so the first five six hours for me was motor preparation before I could
start testing.
O.M. G-7
On Saturday we started with the G-7 one motor race. We had two
mains, picked by random who raced in which. I started on red in the
first main and lost a lot of ground and then caused some crashes which
cost me a gear change. The mains was run 8x4 minutes.
The race was won by Petteri Pirhonen who had Antti Immonen as a good
mechanic.

Top qualifier in G-27 was, again, Stefan Törnfeldt 1,819.

The starting field was very small but still the racing was close. Towards the latter part in the race Mikael Silén lost a magnet which caused the motor to overheat.

The qualifying in G-7 was fast. As usual. On top was Mikael Silén. 1.555.A lot of you have seen Mikael around, almost since his birth, but, this was his first ever top qualifying win in the G-7 class.
Since the day was still early we decided to run the G-7 class finished on Saturday.
In the race we drove to semi finals and a main final.

After the race was over Kimmo offered us, the swedes, to stay at his place in Helsinki since our plane left on Sunday.
