Hjärup 12 hour Endurance Challenge
The Danish Dynamite on a difficult red lane took an early lead which
they held on to for several hours. Within striking distance were the
Czech team Smradosi.
50-80 laps behind saw the teams of Fabulous Four, T.I.T and BPA-S.
Team Jelzin made an early motor change and they were in a lonely six
place for hours.
Seventh and eight saw Gothic Rockers and FFW b DFTM.
The amount of laps, 961, done by the Danish Dynamite on a difficult red
lane turned out to be the highest lap total of any lane or team during
this 12 hour race.
During the third segment a new trend emerged where Danish Dynamite
slipped backwards letting Smradosi take the lead with BPA-S catching up
and halfway through the third segment BPA-S took the lead.
When we came halfway, after 6-hour it was Smradosi who was back in the
lead. Second were BPA-S and in third the Fabulous Four. They were all
within 100 laps.
It now became clear that the fight for the win would be between BPA-S
and Smradosi. After the fifth heat BPA-S had less than 30 laps down to
Smradosi.
Smradosi maintained their high pace and won at the end after a fast and
steady run with all their heats above 900 laps. BPA-S came in second
and Fabulous Four in third. The only change from the early on
indications were the Jelzin team who climbed up to fourth place at the
end.
Not even for the winner were the race easy.
