ISRA 2006 World Championship.
7-14 October, Soragna, Italy
In the town of Soragna in Italy the ISRA 2006 World
Championship was held during the beginning of october.
I left Sweden on Friday afternoon and I spent the morning packing all
my stuff. At the first attempt I had overweight both on the carry on
luggage as well as the suitcase. Not a surprise there.
Anders Gustafson and Mikael Landrud came by me at their way to the
airport. There we meet Lars Harrysson.
The flight to Milano worked fine and the diesel rental car sounded
really good. Maybe a broken exhaust pipe.
Close to Soragna we had booked beds at a Bed & Breakfast. After
checking in, the place was full. Both rooms.
The owners did not
understand a single word of English and none of use speak any Italian
so everything started well.
Our attempt to find a place to eat ended
with the owner first calling a restaurant to book table and then he
drove in front of us to show the way to the restaurant in a nearby
village.
There we faced again the task on language barriers paired with no
written menu available. We took the easy route and ordered "Quatro
speziale".
On Saturday it was free practice and the whole day was waiting
in line to drive, drive, marshaling, making changes to the cars, back
in line and so on.
Sunday was like Saturday but with the difference that practice was now
organized so you did not have to wait in line.
