The branch insignia worn on uniform m/1906 was a crowned coat of arms of medium blue broadcloth. It was a worn on the right upper arm on the tunic and greatcoat. Each unit has an allotted unit designation consisting of a prefix and a distinct unit number, for example K2. The prefix marks the branch of the army. The insignia worn on uniform m/1806 consisted of the unit number in numerical and the specific branch insignia. The infantry insignia is for example two crossed rifles. See below.

Collar tab m/1958 was worn both on uniform m/1958 and m/1959. The tab was made of a dark green textile band with a light green edging. The branch insignia was in bronze color and woven into the textile band. The insignias were in the same shape and design as the insignias worn on uniform m/1960, see above.The branch insignia collar tab m/1958 was worn on the left collar tip while the rank insignia collar tab (m/1958) were worn on the right collar tip. The collar tab with the rank insignia was similar the the branch insignia collar tabs, i.e. green textile band.Private soldiers wore branch insignias on both collar tips.
