A Total Solar Eclipse (TSE) and a star @ 1981.

TSE of 31 july, 1981

This picture is captured with my special TSE telescope. To access the middle and outer corona, the exposuretime is about one second @ F/14 and 400 ASA. As a very pleasing surprize, the tiny white speck of light, to the left of the Sun, is a star. Asellus Australis (delta Cancri, mag 4) .

Asellus Australis

The picture is processed to enhance the light of the star. Asellus Australis is some 0,5 degrees to the left (east) of the totally eclipsed Sun. To confirm this fact, all my pictures in this exposurebracket contain this small dot.

My best guess is that this is an uniqe picture by an amateurastronomer, showing the Sun and a star. It was not planned beforehand, it was just a lucky chance.
