Overview

Hieronymus Antonius van den Belt, better known as Jeroen, jeroen@chessbase.com, http://home.worldonline.nl/~jvdbelt/, has put a tremendous effort into making an emulator for the Z88. Provided here are information of versions and some details needed for running the programs.

Z88 Emulator v0.01

DOS program written in Borland C++.

Files:
Main executable is Z88.EXE, size 382576 bytes, dated 1996-03-18 20.55.
The graphics driver EGAVGA.BGI, size 5554 bytes, dated 1992-06-10 03.10 is needed for loading the program.
British OZ v3.0 rom image named Z88.ROM, size 131072 is needed, else program hangs on load.
A file named BANK2.Z88 avoids the error message "Cannot open input file.".

Z88Dream, Z88 Emulator v0.02

16-bit Windows program written in MS Visual C++.

Files:
Main executable is WINZ88.EXE, size 1632540 bytes, dated 1996-04-14 22.47.
British OZ v3.0 rom image named Z88.ROM, size 131072 is needed, else program crashes on load.
An application card image named PCLINK2.EP, size 32768 is needed, else program crashes on load.

16-bit Windows program.

Files:
Main executable is WINZ88.EXE, size 386048 bytes, dated 1996-06-09 21.27.
British OZ v3.0 rom image named Z88.ROM, size 131072 is needed to run the program properly.
An application card image named EXAMPLES.EPR, size 32768 avoids the error message "failed to open application".

ZDream version 1.99

32-bit Windows program built in Delphi.

Files:
Main executable is Z88DREAM.EXE, size 306688 bytes, dated 1997-03-31 21.31.
British OZ v3.0 rom image named Z88.ROM, size 131072 is needed to run the program properly and it won't close properly without it.

Special Keys are still on the same function keys as in v.0.01.
