Hank C. Burnette, aka Sven-Åke Kenneth Högberg, born December 12, 1944 in Nilsvallen, Sveg, is a Swedish rockabilly artist.
Biography: During his upbringing he listened a lot to Carl Jularbo and later hillbilly music before he discovered rock'n'roll. Högberg with family moved to Umeå and played in several different band art galleries. Teddy and the teddy bears became a great local success in Umeå in the late 1950s, and Sven-Åke was named Umeå's King of Rock'n'roll. The last band, Little Johhny & his red dynamites, was split when Högberg with family moved to Oxelösund. Högberg was looking for musicians to start a new band, but found none he thought was good enough. He then borrowed two players and started recording. In 1966, he sent a demo band to the record company Blue Horizon in Warrington, Florida. The company decided to publish a disc. It was also where the name "Hank C. Burnette" was born, following his idols Hank Williams, Chet Atkins and Johnny Burnette, and because Sven-Åke Högberg was not an internationally viable name. The song Hank's Wildwood Flower (instrumental rocked version of Wildwood Flower) became a radio hit in Nashville. In the early 1970s he began to hit through Europe, and in 1976, the single Spinnin 'rock boogie was released. … Read full text In Swedish here >>> Hank C. Burnette
