His birth name are somewhat confusing either it is Raymond E. Smith or David Ray Smith, (that's what I know now, march 11-2022) aka Ray Smith (1), Oscar Ray Smith.

David Ray Smith , also Oscar Ray Smith (* before 1956 in Oklahoma , † 1997 ) was an American rockabilly musician. He is not related to Kentucky country singer Ray Smith or rockabilly singer Ray Smith .
Life
Born Raymond E. Smith, (David Ray Smith) (aka David Ray "Oscar Ray Smith" by other sources), Smith began his career in 1956 with Heart Records, where he released the single Gone Baby Gone / Swinging Boogie with the Rocking Wranglers . At the radio station KRHD, Smith recorded some demo tapes, which he sent to Joe Leonard, an employee of Lin Records. Leonard referred him to the Lins sub -label , Kliff Records. There he recorded seven more titles as "David Ray", four of which were released. In 1997 an album of his collected works was released.
